Abrar Khan says that he was first given the polio vaccine in 1994, and he has now been serving as a polio volunteer since 2012.
Abrar said, “Even today, I have 3 physiotherapy sessions every month.”
Polio virus confirmed in 8 districts of the country
It should be noted that the polio vaccination campaign is starting in Sindh province today from December 16 to December 22. The Chief Minister of Sindh will launch the campaign at a local school in Karachi. One crore six lakh children under the age of five will be vaccinated. More than 80 thousand polio workers will participate in this campaign, who will go door to door to ensure that no child is deprived of the vaccine.
15 thousand security personnel have also been deployed across Sindh during the campaign. This year, 63 children have been infected with polio in Pakistan, including 17 children from Sindh. Pakistan and Afghanistan are the last 2 countries in the world where the polio virus is still endemic.
