Another case of monkeypox has been reported in the country.
According to NIH sources, the 34-year-old monkeypox patient is a resident of Upper Dir who arrived in Islamabad from Saudi Arabia on December 18.
The monkeypox patient had arrived at Islamabad Airport from Saudi Arabia, where he was placed in isolation after being diagnosed. The patient is undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of PIMS Hospital.
During screening at the airport, the passenger was found to have monkeypox symptoms, upon which the patient was transferred from the airport to PIMS.
The patient’s sample was sent to NIH for monkeypox test. The National Institute of Health confirmed monkeypox in the patient and said that the condition of the monkeypox patient is satisfactory.
It should be noted that the number of monkeypox cases reported this year has increased to 8.
