The government is preparing to tighten the grip on non-filers, after which they will not be able to open bank accounts, purchase property and vehicles.
According to ARY News, the Tax Law Amendment Bill 2024-25 was presented in the National Assembly, according to the proposed amendment, non-filers will be banned from buying vehicles of more than 800 cc, will not be able to buy property beyond a certain limit, and will also be banned from buying shares beyond a certain limit.
The proposed amendment states that non-filers will not be able to open bank accounts, will not be able to make transactions beyond a certain limit, and will be allowed to buy motorcycles, rickshaws and tractors.

Bank accounts of unregistered businessmen will be frozen, unregistered businessmen will not be able to transfer property, the government will be authorized to seal the property of unregistered businessmen, the accounts of those whose names the FBR will issue a list will be frozen.
According to the proposed amendment, bank accounts will be frozen for not registering for sales tax, there will be a ban on property transfer without registering for sales tax, they will be unfrozen after 2 days of sales tax registration, for which an appeal will have to be made to the Chief Commissioner.
The filer’s parents, children up to 25 years of age, and wife will be considered filers, while the ban will be implemented after the notification of the federal government.
