Islamabad: Investment in Pakistan’s telecom sector has declined for the second consecutive year.
According to the details, investment in the telecom sector has come down from one and a half billion to 760 million dollars in 3 years. In the last fiscal year, investment in the telecom sector has also decreased compared to the coalition government.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, investment in the telecom sector decreased to 765 million dollars, in the fiscal year 2022-23, the volume of investment in the tele sector was 770 million dollars.
In the fiscal year 2021-22, investment in the telecom sector was 1.657 billion dollars, in the fiscal year 2020-21, investment in the tele sector was 1.214 billion dollars.

In the fiscal year 2019-20, the volume of investment in the telesector was $1.14 billion.
On the other hand, according to the State Bank of Pakistan, foreign investment in the country has increased by 31 percent in the first five months of the current fiscal year. In November 2024, foreign direct investment was $219 million, while in November, foreign direct investment was $133 million.
In the first five months of the current fiscal year, foreign direct investment was $1.124 billion. In the first five months of the previous fiscal year, foreign direct investment was $856 million.
